What to Expect

  • Leave personal expectations behind. Your practice will change day to day. Tune in to the present state of your mindbody and start from there.
  • It is okay if you have never done yoga before. Now is the best time to start. It is my job to help you in your journey, and I will help you find your best practice.
  • It is okay if you are not flexible. Saying you are too stiff for yoga is like saying you are too dirty to take a shower.
  • If you have injuries or medical conditions, let me know before class begins. I will help you modify the practice to work for your needs.
  • Show up early to stretch and settle into the space. Often, I start class by going right into sun salutations. I also start class on time.
  • Dress comfortably. You will warm up during class. You will cool down during rest (savasana).
  • Do not wear strong fragrances. These can be distracting to others.
  • Turn off your phone during class. This can be distracting to yourself and others.
  • No watches or smart watches. These can be distracting to yourself. I will keep track of time and make sure you are done by the scheduled end of class.
  • If you are just looking for a physical workout, that is fine, but I encourage you to allow for the possibility of mental and emotional change that often occurs with dedicated yoga practice. That is the best part.
  • Most importantly, BREATH. Breath deep with awareness and control. You are never truly in a posture if you cannot breath comfortably while you are in it.
