    Ashtanga is a traditional yoga practice which includes a set sequence of postures beginning with sun salutations to heat up the body followed by a series of standing postures, seated postures, back-bends and inversions. This beginner-friendly class is a modified version of the Primary Series in which students will be able to learn the fundamentals of Ashtanga and develop their own practice. All levels are welcome!

    With all of the research on the benefits of meditation, it makes so much sense that we actually practice it! Sharing meditation in a community setting is motivating and wonderful. The yoga is a gentle style and is appropriate for all ages, shapes, sizes and levels of experience. If seated meditation is painful for you, we will create adaptations!
    Meditation...
    Reduces stress by quieting down the "fight or flight" nervous system response and activating "rest and digest" mode.
    Improves digestion, metabolism and absorption. Changes the structure of the brain by increasing the size of the hippocampus (associated with love and compassion) and reducing the size of our amygdala (fear processing center of the brain). Strengthens our immune system. Lowers blood pressure. Enhances sleep. Improves relationships. Promotes happiness/good mood and well-being.
