    This class combines a slower paced yoga flow with pranayama (yogic breath exercises) and mindfulness meditation instruction. Mindfulness meditation trains the brain to let go of distraction and return to the present moment with awareness. This actively reduces stress by quieting down the "fight or flight" response of the sympathetic nervous system response and activating "rest and digest" response of the parasympathetic nervous system. Mindful Movement combines traditional yoga and meditation practices with research based mindfulness techniques.
